I'm back (to normal)?!

geschrieben von Birgit am 25/09/2017 17:44

I’m back, managed to survive the last twelve months… actually the last eighteen months as my journey started in march 2016!

And upon until now it’s been a bumpy journey through life. I’ve passed many crossing where I didn’t know which way to go. I’ve been through some long dark tunnels where there hasn’t been light at the end – just another tunnel waiting for me.

It might be unbelievable but the last year has been a year of changes, fights and hard work although it should have been a year of recovery, silence and waking up every morning being grateful for another day.

People say sometimes it takes something traumatic or very difficult to get us to "wake up” review and look at "quality of our lives”.

From my point of view: I’m still sleeping! Or let’s say "I’m just about to wake up!”

Initially I was planning to take a few days off now. Time to step back and relax. Maybe review what happened and prepare myself for whatever the future brings. And yes, it would have been a good idea and maybe important but I think it’s more important to slowly but steady review my daily life and look for ways to improve every day a bit more.

Therefore I’ve left our home in the morning and visited a garden I’ve planned to see a few times over the last two years. But there has been always a reason why I couldn’t…

It’s time to stop postpone!

Start living my life instead of surviving day by day!

And it’s been a perfect day for it:

A wonderful autumn day presented the surroundings in colours you can only find in the autumn: leaves from various green tones changing to red, orange and yellow. Most of them still on the trees but a lovely carpet underneath them as well.

"Quality of live!”

It’s not just having the time to walk around a garden it’s about opening the eyes and see the beautiful colours of life. Still plenty of flowers in bloom and even if they’ve been beyond their best time… wonderful.

Haven’t been counting the benches but "tried” nearly all of them.

Some have just been benches to sit down and take a break and others have been relaxing places where not just my body managed to rest but my soul as well.

When I walked around the formal gardens I’ve noticed a butterfly enjoying itself. And somehow it felt like it followed me or tried to join my walk around the garden.

I’ve taken some pictures whilst wondering around the garden and I’m sharing some with you. As you can imagine I haven’t been the only visitor and many of them have been taking pictures. Some of them have given the impression of taking it serious and very professional. One man at least has carried a lot equipment with him and took his time to take pictures whilst I’ve taken as I thought it’s worth it.

It happened twice that our ways crossed each other and he smiled at me with the message between the lines "well…!” Maybe it’s been just me thinking he didn’t value my skills but I smiled back thinking "poor you what and effort to create memories!” Well at least for me it’s been about memories. Pictures to remind me of a beautiful day!

What I’ve learned today: Stop surviving and start living!
